Sidhe

The Shining Folk

In gaelic lore, the Sidhe (Shee) are spirits of nature resembling beautiful, translucent humans. They walk without making a sound or leaving tracks, and their appearance is often an omen of various things, depending on the Sidhe. They are said to inhabit a parallel universe, and are associated with faery rings, faery mounds, and sacred sites (such at Glastonbury). While encounters with the Sidhe date back thousands of years, they are still seen in today's world. Some famous Sidhe are the Leanan Sidhe and the Bean Sidhe (Banshee).

Just thought I would say Goodbye  IY Captions. I will miss you. You were the first comm. I wrote for every week after the first week. I met many of my friends. I would to thank all of the people who wrote here. I enjoyed nearly everything that was written here. I would like to thank the artists who allowed their works to be used for this contest. You always inspired. I will always remember this last one by kriscynical. It is so appropriate for IK to be walking off together toward their new life. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the mods for keeping this comm going through good times and bad. To quote Douglas Adams " So long and thanks for all the fish."
